Honouring Community Wisdom: Pam Jackson Joins as Our First Board Knowledge Exchange Contributor

At Head Start Homes, our mission is to create pathways to homeownership that are inclusive, community-led, and grounded in lived experience.

We are honoured to announce a milestone that brings us closer to that vision: Pam Jackson, our First Nations Collaboration and Liaison Officer, has joined us as our inaugural Board Knowledge Exchange Contributor.

Pam is a proud Bundjalung elder, and a deeply respected member of our team. Her leadership, cultural knowledge, and commitment to empowering First Nations families have shaped our work and inspired our community. Now, Pam’s voice and wisdom will help guide our Board’s decisions, ensuring they reflect the realities, strengths, and aspirations of the communities we serve.

Through our new Board Knowledge Exchange Program, Pam will participate in Board meetings for up to 12 months—sharing her insights, stories, and expertise. Pam will have full access to Board materials and an equal voice in our conversations. This initiative is about listening, learning, and leading together—embedding First Nations perspectives at the heart of our governance.

Thanks to our partnership with Westpac, Pam will also participate in Board Observer training, helping us refine and grow this program for future contributors. We are committed to building a Board—and an organisation—that truly reflects and respects the diversity of our community.

Managing Director and Founder, Stephen Woodlands said

"Pam’s appointment is a celebration of connection, courage, and the power of lived experience. We are grateful for her knowledge and leadership and are proud to walk this path together as we strive towards our vision of a safe and stable home for everyone with fair and practical pathways to home ownership."

Please join us in congratulating Pam and celebrating the vital role of First Nations voices in shaping a more just and inclusive future.
