National Close the Gap Day 2023

Head Start Homes recognises that today is the National Close the Gap Day (NCTGD).

NCTGD is an annual event that takes place on the third Thursday in March to bring attention to the disparities that affect our First Nations Peoples and to advocate for improved health and living conditions for the Traditional Owners of the Land that we are privileged to live and work on.

Today in Australia there is a 24% gap between First Nations homeownership (42%) compared to the rest of Australia (66%).

Head Start Homes is fully committed to helping close this gap so that First Nations Peoples have more equal access to Home Ownership.

Today reminds us to educate ourselves, raise our voices collectively to spread awareness, and stand with First Nations Peoples in achieving equality for all.
