HSH lends its voice to redesigning the housing system

Head Start Homes Founder and Managing Director, Stephen Woodlands, was a guest speaker at a recent panel discussion on "redesigning a more equitable housing system" as part of Melbourne Design Week 2023, an initiative of the Victorian Government in collaboration with the National Gallery of Victoria.

As a response to the Design Week theme of "design the world you want," the host Assemble Papers gathered some of our country's most innovative voices in housing to discuss ways of bringing about equitable systemic change.

The event aimed to better understand what is needed to ensure financially viable, climate-ready, and well-designed housing for more Australians - and how this can be achieved within our current system.

Stephen outlined the ways Head Start Homes helps disrupt homelessness, intergenerational poverty, and cycles of disadvantage through our Empowerment Services and Products.

He was joined by Sophie Rzepecky, Head of Brand at Assemble; Mary Delahunty, Founder and Managing Director of Seven Advisory; Jeanette Large, CEO and Company Director at Women's Property Initiatives; and Charlotte Dillon, General Manager of Housing at YWCA Australia.

A special thanks to Assemble Papers for making a generous donation to Head Start Homes to help our clients.
